I’ve already posted about the excellent parcel that Aussie sent to all of their Angels, and I briefly mentioned the invite to join other Angels on the London Eye for Bonfire Night. I was seriously excited – I love the events I’ve been to with Aussie, and I’d never been on the Eye.
After meeting up with Maria, Danni and Sherin at the hotel where a few of us were staying, we headed over to the Eye to meet up with the other Angels. Sarah was running so late, I was worried we were going to end up leaving her behind!
We managed to pile into a pod (I’m not a fan of how the pod was slowly moving and you had to leap in…I was wearing my favourite heels (which never get worn enough) with a new black and sparkly dress I bought the day before with some dressing room help from Twitter.
Lets pretend here that I’m pulling a silly face on purpose with lovely Fi
Champs was of course served on the pod
The obligatory shot of Big Ben
I had been really been excited about seeing fireworks over Big Ben, but because the weather hadn’t been that good, there wasn’t really a lot of fireworks in Central London. Boo!
County Hall looked very different from the last time I saw it when my lovely friends Alec and Suz got married
Once we had gone around the Eye twice, we all hopped off and headed towards the road. We were supposed to be going to a club in Covent Garden which even I knew would involve a bit of a walk. Once we reached the road though, we saw two stretch limo Hummers. Everyone squealed, and piled into them. In our limo, we were all giggling and Amy suggested we have a hashtag for the night – which is how#yummyhummer was born.
There was a competition on the night for the girl with the best hair (or something…things got a bit fuzzy if I’m honest) and er, long story short, I won. YAY.
I had popped in a Bump It (I managed to resist spending £10 on them in Asda and instead bought them for about £2 on eBay (from this seller) and then after battling with mousse, hairspray and spray gel (all Aussie of course – I seem to have accumulated most of the product line!), I resorted to my old uni up do. Pull random strips of hair, roll, pin. (I just realised that this picture still shows some blonde, aaah, I can’t dye my hair properly at all!)
My prize was a curling wand (already commandeered by the Wife to do her sister in laws wedding hair!), a champagne spa day at the Sanctuary in Covent Garden, a red fluffy Topshop snoody scarf thing (so cosy and warm!) and some Max Factor makeup. I can’t wait to go to the spa, I’ve never been to a proper one before!
I had such a great night, it was amazing to be able to go to such a brilliant event, and see lots of the girls I chat to every day. Thank you Aussie and 1000Heads as ever, I’m always in awe of what you think of next!
(Pictures borrowed from Harriet, Sarah and 1000Heads, because I ignored the thought that my SLR would be better and instead took my compact camera with me which decided to throw a hissy fit. Damn you Sony.)

Hurray for Bump-its! Officially my favourite piece of hair trickery since I got mine for that hen do a few weeks back. Although how very annoying that I paid £10 for mine. DAMN YOU!
Excellent prize. Very jealous you get to go the Sanctuary Spa as well, that’s only like the BEST ONE EVER.

Yes! This was actually the first time I was able to use it properly, but anything that means I don’t have to attempt the evilness that is backcombing (WHY WHY WHY) is a win.
