One of the charities that is close to my heart is Cancer Research. As many of you know, we lost our mum to cancer in December 2005 to cancer, so I try to support this charity (as well as Macmillan Nurses, because they really looked after my mum) as much as I can. I ran the Race for Life last year, but couldn’t do it this year because I had no idea whether I would be in Chester or in Bristol. (As it turned out, I was in Chester when the Bristol one was on, and in Bristol when the Chester one was on.) I will definitely be doing it next year, and will be hitting you all up for donations!
Another thing I love are handbags. Yeah, I know, its shocking isn’t it? At one point, I had over 100 bags that I used. I’ve managed to cut this down quite a bit (I have about 5 day bags that I use now, and about 10 night/clutch bags. Very restrained.) I went to Harvey Nichols on Saturday and it took a lot of effort not to clutch and stroke every bag there. (I restrained myself mostly, but when I came to a black velvet Christian Louboutin clutch bag, with sparkly stiletto clasp, I couldn’t resist!)
So a post that caught my eye last night from Kingdom of Style was this post about Handbag.com and Cancer Research getting together to launch a Handbag Amnesty, where people (not just girls!) are encouraged to donate their handbags for the chance to win a Dolce and Gabbana handbag.
Its a great excuse for a clearout of your closet, and its for an awesome cause. Get giving!
