I’m almost tired of seeing this on my Dashboard:
I say almost because I am a big kid really :)
Bristol has been hit quite badly by these snow storms, and I am beginning to forget what it is like to be able to walk down the road without slipping a little bit.
I’ve been one of the few people to make it into the office this week (I particularly enjoyed the notice on our Intranet yesterday saying that the servicedesk was operating with a skeleton staff due to the adverse weather conditions – because at the time I read this, I had just passed most of them outside on the lawn having a snowball fight and making sad little snowmen like this – )
I went to Bath last night to see Mark Watson at the Komedia (a review to come when I remember, because I’m crap like that) and as I walked back up the hill home at 11pm, I was covered in big flakes of snow. I didn’t really expect it to be that bad though. I was wrong
The above photos (taken from the article in the Sun here – yes, the Sun had the best pictures of it, shh) are of my road. See the tree in the first picture on the left? Thats at the top of my terrace.
The road was pretty much a car park when I got up this morning, which helped make up my mind about whether to go in today along with the (slightly over the top) statement from the police (or someone, I don’t know, someone official!) that noone should even leave their house in Bristol today. (I had to listen to the local radio this morning to find out what was happening…I had forgotten just how bad local radio is!)
Now I’ve actually got the day off, I’m very very bored. Sigh, what to do…
