Prefering to use Instagr.am over expensive photo manipulation apps like Hipstamatic to some people might be like saying “Well, I could take this photo manually with a film slr, but where’s that Tesco value disposable camera?” But its not.
I downloaded Instagram last year onto my iPhone, and normally I forget to use these apps after a week or maybe a month of getting excited and taking photos of everything, but I’m still using Instagram. Why? I like that it gives me a choice of filters, I like that it has its own little network, I like that I can post one photo to various different sites at the same time (and check in to places on Foursquare with the pic) I definitely like that its free to use and download. Its also pretty nice that it has an API which means that people can build sites like Instasha.de (viewing photos according to colour), Instagre.at (the best of Instagram) and Undersky (which allows you to view all of your photos – Instagram doesn’t do this at the moment outside of the app. Here’s my archive of photos)

haha, is that sarah I spy?! Love all of these photos- and I love the effects that the app seems to give, but alas I don’t have an i-phone so do not yet know the joys! One day…one day. x
I’m completely late to the Instagram party having only downloaded it last week, but I do love it already. Every bit as good (if not better) than Hipstamatic, and free!

I love instagram too, I think the fact that it also has the social network aspect to it has made me us it more than hipstamatic, which I did download but got bored of quite easily. I think instagram is growing greatly – I love the tiltshift feature they added to it too.
