To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the dick bruna huis being opened to the public, the Centraal Museum in Utrecht (which the dick bruna huis is a part of) has invited a selection of fashion designers from around the world to design a new party dress for Miffy.
I went to the museum when I visited Utrecht in 2007 and it was seriously interesting. Obviously the main attraction of the exhibition is Miffy and her 55 year history, but there was also a lot of Dick Bruna’s other work in the upstairs bit. The Miffy parts were mostly downstairs, and then the other works were in the loft area. There were a lot of young children in the Miffy section, I felt a bit out of place!
The exhibition is on until the end of the year. Utrecht is about 30 minutes on the train from Amsterdam and is such a beautiful little town to visit – if you’re visiting Amsterdam this year, Utrecht is a great day trip.
