In 2008, I missed my work Christmas do because I went back to Chester to see my friends. In 2009, I missed the party because – well, I didn’t actually want to go because I couldn’t stand my colleagues (and they were only reluctantly allowing me to go) so I pretended I was ill. (Although I did get to go to the Aussie party at Mahiki, which was awesome) In 2010, I had just ended my contract at the previous hated place, and oh yeah I went to America so suck it.
I seem to be making up for things in 2011 though with 5 different parties and gatherings that I’ve been invited to. Wednesday was the Bathcamp Christmas Spectacular, which involved about 54 large Dominos pizzas (ever seen that many pizzas? IT IS A LOT). Last night was my works do, which was fun. Next week, I have a fancy dress party for Kittencamp (am going as a fashion blogger, of course), a gathering at Pomegranate Boutique on Thursday, and of course, the MyStreetChic Christmas blogger party on Friday (Are you going? If not, why not? Get your ticket quick!)
For so many parties, a girl needs a good pair of shoes. And you know me. I like shoes. A LOT. When I received an email from Fleur at VoucherCodes, asking if I wanted to be a part of their blogger road test on party shoes, I emailed Sarah quickly which something like “how quickly can I reply YES YES OH GOD YES without looking desperate”.
These beautiful (they truly are, my photos do not do them justice) shoes are in a similar style to a pair of Miu Miu shoes which you’ve probably seen all over the fashion blogs and Tumblrs.
The ones I have are black with a multi coloured heel*. You can also get them in a red pump with a gold glitter heel* or purple with a black/silver heel*. They cost £65, but VoucherCodes usually have a few discount codes lurking about.
They’re a high HIGH heel, measuring about 5 and a half inches in total, but theres a bit of a platform so its not so painful on your feet. However, these are not really a shoe for dancing all night long in. I wore them yesterday for my works do, and after an hour standing up in them at the bar, I almost ran to the banquette and kicked off my shoes under the table! When I first picked them up from the post office last weekend, I didn’t have time to do anything more than coo at them in the box. When it came to leaving the house, I had a little panic over how tight the front of the shoe was. I persevered though, and squoze my dainty feet into them. Thankfully the gig last week was a sit down one, so the only walking I had to do was to the bar, to the car, and to the counter in Maccy D’s. (I glammed up the Frome branch at 11pm on a Saturday.)
They’re made of suede, so I think they could be stretched out a little, but I would probably order a size up if possible. Being suede, they do need a lot more care than a normal leather pair of shoes, but they’re just so gorgeous not to wear! (When I’m not wearing them, I actually have them on display on my bookshelf rather than hide them away in the shoe box!)
Oh, you’d like a better look at that heel? Here you go.
If you’d like a pair, and you’re a size 6, you’re in luck, because my esteemed companion Sarah is giving away her pair on her blog.

are you going to wear those shoes to mystreetchic? I might break out my glitter babies for the occasion.

oh my goodness those are gorgeous! I’d probably just put them on my mantlepiece and not even worry about wearing them if they didn’t fit!
Glad you’re having a fun and full party schedule!
