In my house, Easter is a time for new clothes. When we were little, my sister and I would be taken into town or passed a catalogue, and we were allowed to choose a whole new outfit. Shoes and all. We’d also get a huge bar of chocolate, our parents being of the sensible opinion that Easter eggs are just over packaged nonsense. (Can’t you tell I’m getting old?)
I thought I’d see if I could persuade a new dress out of Daddy dearest (Its funny how he becomes Daddy when I want something), but, well, this was his reaction:
(Nearly 20 years of owning a mobile phone, and this is as much of a text as I get out of him.)
However, though the magic of blogging, I did still end up with a lovely new dress! If you’ve seen Sarah’s post, you might know this already, but Idealo got in contact with me asking if I’d like to take part in their Spring Dress Challenge. Of course, I said yes (well, obviously, otherwise this post wouldn’t be here) and also said “Do you know my friend Sarah, she is slightly obsessed with dresses as well”, hence why she was asked to join in.
Anyway. Dress! Spring is when I tend to gravitate towards nautical stylings – I have no idea why, but anything thats navy and white striped in my wardrobe always seems to have been bought around this time of year. Weird.
Dress: Phase Eight | Shoes: Primark | Sunglasses: Specsavers (similar – mine are black, not brown)
(Please forgive me for wearing my sunglasses inside – I was trying to take a photo of my new glasses to send to my friend, and this was the only photo out of all the ones I took that I actually liked!)
I was on the House of Fraser website looking for a dress, and I spotted this one first. Phase Eight is one of those brands that I associate with an older age group and wouldn’t have been the first place I looked at, but I thought it was worth trying somewhere new for a change – I assumed that by choosing from Phase Eight that the hemline would be a little longer than the usual high street offerings, but this hits me just above the knee. Its made me look at the other offerings – I’m now stalking this dress to go into the sale!
If you noticed, apologies for the silence around here this week. No excuse really, besides that I finally got the bloggers map up to date (hooray!), I have been on a major procrastination session and I’ve been playing far too much with my new iPad (a surprise present from the boyfriend while he was away…aah!).
Now…to nap, or to (online window) shop? Such hard decisions for a Bank Holiday Monday!
(Post title OBVIOUSLY related to this.)

This is a lovely spring dress (if only the weather would be more spring-like)! I like Phase 8 for work things and they often have really good sales bargains. x
