Last Friday, after a few drinks after work, I headed out for a blogger event with Visit Bristol which was showing off some of the fun awesome things you can do in the city this year. We had dinner at Pieminister first, before heading to the skating ring at @t Bristol – two of my favourite things to do in the city!
Pieminister have four different pies available over the Christmas period – Deer Santa, Mistle Moo, Christingle and Three Kings. Me and Victoria went for the Three Kings pie – an open top pie with turkey, bacon, chestnut and parsnips topped with bread sauce and cranberries, which was served with Pieminister’s amazing mash, mushy peas, gravy, onions and cheese. It was so amazing, we had to take a selfie with our plates. (Piefie?) If you’ve never made it to either the St Nicks or Stokes Croft branches, put it on your to-do list immediately!
It also happened to be the Christmas light switch on at St Nicks Market so we snuggled in the Pieminister shop, listening to the live music (on top of the smoothie bar!) and cheered along with the crowds when the Bristol legend, Big Jeff, turned on the lights.
A short walk later and we were over at Millenium Square, where the rink had been set up. It’s a slightly different layout to last time I went – not sure whether the rink is bigger, but it’s plenty big enough for a few bloggers to shuffle around (and avoid the drunk bloke who was trying to throw himself into everyone and everything)
(What if they had special movie showings on this screen while you skated?)
(Sorry Sophie! This photo keeps making me laugh!)
Tara, me, Sophie and Dulcie taking a ton of selfies while trying not to fall over!
Who’s up for another trip to the ice skating rink soon? It’s open until 5th Jan, so there’s totally time for a few visits after work!
