I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling (20)22…
Let’s just not even mention 2021. It was kinda a meh year, but thankfully there were no losses or major bad events. Here’s how meh it was – I couldn’t actually do a top 9 photos from Instagram, because I only posted 8 photos all year. Maybe one of my 2022 resolutions should be to post more on there…
For 2021, I was going to…
- Pay better attention to my health and fitness
I kinda did this a little but not enough. Something to still work on I think. We quit our gym membership in February and built out a weight rack and some cardio machines in our garage which is much more fun to use, but means I’m less motivated to do more than just hop on the Peloton (I’m hayleygh on there if you want to add me!). I used our health insurance a bit more to find people to help towards the end of the year, and that’s been quite useful! Oh, and the water bottle does help me sometimes to drink more water, but I go through phases.
- Be more regular
Hahahahahhahahhahaha.
Honestly, I don’t really know what happened here. In theory, there was nothing stopping me getting into a routine, except me. And I’m terrible. When I wrote this resolution, we were all thinking that things would get back to old normal, and we could go out to cafes and back to the office, etc. If only. I miss taking the laptop out and getting stuff done outside of the house.
- Dress up more often
Well this definitely didn’t happen. Not much point dressing up if you’re not going anywhere!
In 2022, I will…
- Use my time better
I think I need to be better at blocking out time to get stuff done – even writing this post has taken me longer than usual because I just get distracted by all the other stuff that needs to be done. Something that I struggle with is prioritising, and getting things done – I have a thing on my list and it becomes a whole thing that I just can’t get done. How do people do it?
- Stop hiding my interests
Something I started to do in 2020 and 2021 was to talk about my other interests a bit more on social media – I started talking more about F1, and found that quite a few people who follow me also were interested so it’s been nice to be able to talk about stuff with them! I tried following a few more people on Twitter who were much more extroverted in their fandom but it’s a little ott for me, and I tried following with a forum of more female fans but it just ends up talking about the drivers personal lives and relationships and I’m just too old to care about who’s dating who. I’ve also started getting into hockey with the first season of the Seattle Kraken, we’ve been to a few games at Climate Pledge Arena (as well as two concerts! Actual going out! With friends! What’s that about?) and it’s been so much fun!
- Take more photos
I sorted through my photos a few months ago and realised that my camera roll is just dog photos and sunset photos of our view. Which is fine, but I have no photos to remember the gatherings that we’ve been able to have (this Christmas, we had 6 other adults and 4 other dogs, and for New Years, we had 4 of those adults back again. I don’t even have a photo of my plate from Christmas dinner, and it was really good!) and I’d like more random iCloud photo memories popping up that aren’t just drunken Uni nights out!
